Get Quality Tooth Fillings
If you have a damaged tooth structure due to a tooth fracture or cavity, then you will require one or more tooth fillings. Patients should know that in addition to silver (amalgam) fillings, we also offer white (composite fillings) which give both your teeth and overall smile a more seamless, natural look.
We’re also able to replace broken silver fillings with tooth-coloured fillings to eliminate any dark appearance caused by visible silver fillings.

Dental Fillings – What are they and how are they used?
Tooth cavities
The most common reason for requiring a dental filling is for a cavity. Cavities are in essence, holes in the tooth’s structure brought about by plaque. Bacteria contained within plaque cling to the tooth’s surface and start to eat away at the enamel. The resulting damage is known as a cavity.
In our clinic, tooth fillings are a quick and easy dental treatment, taking around 20 minutes or less. The procedure involves gentle removal of the decayed part of your tooth and then filling it with the restoration material. The material is designed to harden quickly, either with the aid of a special light, or naturally.
Tooth wear
Sometimes, particularly with habitual processes such as nail-biting and teeth grinding, the surface of the teeth can wear down, particularly on the chewing surface. In these instances, our experienced dental team may suggest indirect fillings known as inlays and onlays. These are so-called because unlike normal dental fillings, they are fabricated outside of the mouth, usually in a dental lab, and then bonded to the tooth by our experienced dentists. Perfect for repairing a damaged chewing surface or tooth cusp, inlays, onlays, and fillings, allow you to chew and bite again naturally without fear of further damage.
A fractured tooth
If you’ve ever bitten into something hard and realised that you’ve cracked a molar, you’ll know that there are various ways to treat it, depending upon the severity of the damage. In some cases, a tooth filling can be used to repair the crack and is often used in conjunction with a dental crown for added protection.
