Porcelain Veneers Epping – Let Us Transform Your Smile
Do you suffer from badly stained, chipped, or crooked teeth and feel it’s about time you did something about it? If so, you might want to consider porcelain veneers. Epping residents should know that dental veneers have the ability to totally transform a smile with minimal fuss and time commitment. What’s more, our highly experienced and dedicated team are here to give you the smile you really want. But what exactly are dental porcelain veneers? In essence, they’re super-thin, custom-made shell-like layers of porcelain which are permanently attached to the front of the teeth, thus covering up a multitude of problems. Because of the ease at which the process can be done, it’s one of the most popular cosmetic dental treatments available.
So why porcelain?
When it comes to dental veneers, porcelain is the superior choice for many reasons. Firstly, it has a natural translucency which best mimics the look of our teeth. Secondly, it offers superior resistance from teeth-staining beverages such as red wine, tea, and coffee. Finally, porcelain veneers are known to be well-tolerated by the gums, thus lowering the risk of problems. In addition, since porcelain is strong and durable, veneers can last between 10 and 15 years with proper care.
What type of problems can veneers treat?
There are many dental problems that dental veneers in Epping can help with. These include:
- Deeply ingrained stains that can’t be removed by teeth whitening processes
- Worn teeth
- Teeth that are uneven, gapped or misaligned
- Chipped or broken teeth
Dental Veneers in Epping – How the process works
Because porcelain veneers are custom fit, the procedure requires two dental visits. The first is to prepare your teeth ready for veneers and the second is to fit your permanent veneers into position. Here’s how the process works…
First dental visit
During the first dental visit, our Lyndarum dentist will take a series of x-rays. This is followed by: Tooth preparation – The next step is to prepare the teeth that are receiving veneers by removing approximately 1mm of tooth enamel to enable the veneers to sit flush with the rest of the teeth. This is an irreversible process and can only be replaced with new veneers. Impression taking – An impression is taken and sent off to the dental laboratory who will be fabricating your custom veneers. Receiving temporaries – Depending upon your dental needs, we’ll also fit you with a temporary set of veneers so that you can trial your new smile while you wait.
Second dental visit
Once your permanent porcelain veneers are ready, our Epping dentist checks the colour against your teeth to see that it’s a good match. If both parties are happy, your temporaries are removed, and your permanent veneers are attached.
The final touches
Once in place your permanent veneers are polished, buffed and (if necessary) trimmed, to create that flawless smile.
